PUBG Mobile Global Open 2026 Season 2: Standings, Format, Schedule

PUBG Mobile’s second Global Open of 2026 is under way in Lahore, and Group A has already played all six of its matches. If you want the picture without opening six tabs, here’s where the table stands, what the new rules change, when to watch from India, and why this event feeds into the year-end world championship.

Where PMGO 2026 Season 2 stands today

The tournament runs across five match days from October 20 to 25 in Lahore, and organisers describe it as Pakistan’s first official global PUBG MOBILE Esports event. Thirty-two teams are chasing a $500,000 prize pool. According to Liquipedia, KRAFTON, Level Infinite and StarLadder are organising it.

Group A played its six matches on October 20. S2G Esports finished first, with Bigetron and Horaa second and third on 59 and 53 points. Group B plays today, October 21, and that’s the half of the field still waiting to find out where it lands.

How the format works

The Group Stage splits the 32 teams into two groups of 16, each playing six matches. The top six in each group go straight to the Grand Finals, while 7th to 14th place move to a six-match Survival Stage that hands out the last four Grand Finals seats. The bottom two in each group are out. The organisers’ key dates put the Group Stage on October 20 and 21, the Survival Stage on October 22, and the Grand Finals on October 24 and 25. Matches rotate across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar.

A few outlets muddy this. SportsDunia’s group-stage preview lists October 21 and 22 in one place, and TalkEsport’s explainer says the event runs over six days. Both conflict with the organisers’ own release, which says five match days with the dates above. Go with the release.

Two rule changes that affect who advances

The first is a tiebreaker. Any points tie for a qualification spot in the Group or Survival Stage is settled by a best-of-three 4v4 Team Deathmatch on the Warehouse map. A round ends when one team reaches 15 eliminations or, when time runs out, the team with more eliminations wins. A drawn round goes to whoever made the last elimination.

The second is in the Grand Finals. On Day 2, a themed-map showmatch is played before Match 7, and its winner gets to ban one of three map options for a new Match 13. Match 13 only happens if no team has already been crowned under Smash rules, and the leader after Match 12 picks between the two remaining maps. My read: the organisers are trying to make sure the title is decided by a chicken dinner and not by a slow points grind, which rewards teams that can still win a game under pressure on the last day.

Reading Group A’s table

Here’s how Group A finished, based on Liquipedia’s standings, which match Sportskeeda’s reported points for the second and third spots and for the bottom two.

Place Team Points Outcome
1 S2G Esports 60 Grand Finals
2 Bigetron 59 Grand Finals
3 Horaa Esports 53 Grand Finals
4 Influence Rage 52 Grand Finals
5 OLD NOT 47 Grand Finals
6 AK Gold Esports 42 Grand Finals
7 4K Esports 40 Survival Stage
14 Trained to Kill 21 Survival Stage
15 Sharper Esports 19 Eliminated
16 Hustler Crew 15 Eliminated

4K Esports won the opening match on Rondo with 23 points, but they ended up two points short of a direct Grand Finals seat. Trained to Kill took the last Survival slot, two points clear of Sharper. Both ties and near-ties show how thin the margins were, and none of them actually needed the new Team Deathmatch tiebreaker: the one tie in the table, 8th place on 34 points, sits inside the Survival range, so it didn’t matter.

S2G are worth singling out. Sportskeeda describes them as the PMWC 2026 champion. Leading the group on opening day makes sense for a team with that record, though six matches is a small sample. Liquipedia’s table can also be amended, so re-check it before you quote any score.

Why the points matter beyond the prize money

The champion earns 150 PMGC points, and the 16 finalists also earn points based on placement. Teams qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship through points earned across PMGO Season 1, the PMWC and this event. The 2026 PMGC has $3 million on offer and 38 teams chosen by PMGC Points, plus a host-region invite. Organisers say it will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. The sources I could verify don’t give exact PMGC dates.

One mistake to avoid: PUBG on PC has its own Global Championship in Istanbul from December 1 to 13, according to TalkEsport. It’s a different game and a different event, so don’t mix up the two when you see “PGC” and “PMGC” in headlines.

As for the prize split, TalkEsport says the distribution among teams hasn’t been announced, and I couldn’t find one elsewhere.

The India angle

No Indian team is in the field. TalkEsport notes that India’s BGMI circuit runs separately from the global PUBG Mobile circuit and that India has no slot in this event’s allocation. Liquipedia also lists China, Japan, South Korea and India as outside the global qualification. If you play or follow BGMI, though, the matches still work as scouting for the sort of opposition Indian teams can meet at a global event.

Timings suit Indian evenings. Sportskeeda reported Day 1 coverage starting at 3:45 pm IST on the PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube channel, with the first match at 4:30 pm IST. For the Grand Finals, Liquipedia lists Game 1 on October 24 at 11:00 UTC, which is 4:30 pm IST. I couldn’t confirm Group B’s or the Survival Stage’s start times, so check the channel before settling in.

India’s own road to the same world championship is closing in. Team SouL won BMSD 2026 on October 18 and secured India’s PMGC slot. BMIC 2026 follows from October 30 to November 1 at the SVP Indoor Stadium in Mumbai, with 16 teams from India, South Korea and Japan, a ₹1 crore prize pool, and two PMGC spots for the top two.

What to watch for the rest of the week

Group B is the next piece. 4Thrives, the defending PMGO champions, became the first Pakistani team to lift an international PUBG Mobile trophy when they won Season 1. Sportskeeda’s team list places them in the second group, along with Alpha7 Esports and NEXT, though the list I could see was cut short, so check the full draw.

Based on Group A’s numbers, I’d treat S2G, Bigetron and Horaa as the early Grand Finals contenders, because they’re the only three to reach 53 or more points in six matches. That’s an early read, not a prediction. The Survival Stage on October 22 will matter more than it looks, since 16 teams fight for just four seats, and a team that arrives there from Group A with 21 points has the same chance as one with 40.

FAQ

Is there an Indian team at PMGO 2026 Season 2?
No. No Indian team appears among the 32 qualified teams, and BGMI teams qualify for global events through Krafton’s separate Indian circuit.

Where can I watch it in India?
On the PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube channel. Day 1 coverage began at 3:45 pm IST, but check the channel for Group B and later stages.

How big is the prize pool and who gets what?
The total is $500,000. A team-by-team split hasn’t been published in the sources I could find.

When are the Grand Finals?
October 24 and 25, with 16 teams: 12 from the Group Stage and four from the Survival Stage.

Group A is settled, Group B decides the rest of the picture, and the Survival Stage on October 22 fills the last four Grand Finals seats. If you only watch one day before the weekend, make it that one, because it’s where the format’s tiebreaker and thin margins matter most.
